It was a pretty big day for Nissan's at Byron Dragway today. I am going to let Neal tell his own story, but his car was just SICK today. Nissan's really had a good showing.

I did not do to bad either. No PB, but damn close. I also ran with basically no weight reduction, only the spare removed. I just could not pull very good 60' today.

2 best runs of the day.
Mods: intake, y-pipe, MEVI, JWT/ECU, findanza flywheel
Set up: Millenia wheels up front, removed spare, 1 gallon of 104 octane

60' 2.209
330 6.053
1/8 9.216
mph 77.43
1000 11.947
1/4 14.229
mph 99.44

60' 2.231
330 6.108
1/8 9.275
mph 77.31
1000 12.013
1/4 14.306
mph 99.11

I also got my slicks today but did not get to use them. I will be back out on the 17th with slicks and will come home with a 13 sec time slip.

Way to go!! Isn't it amazing to think that you were running 14.7s@94mph at that Oklahoma track a few weeks back It's good to know your car is still running in tip top shape.

Whats up Mike, happy to read these results, your car is running quite well.

60' 2.209
1/4 14.229
mph 99.44

All I can really say is congrats, the trap speed which is independent from the et, is very healthy! The track must have been hooking fairly well, low 2.2xx 60's times are not as easy to get as people think...

It was real windy in the city today...You weren't running into the wind were you? I believe the track runs in a Southerly direction, but then even a cross-wind could possibly affect your runs. Would you say today's conditions were really optimal for racing??

I know the slicks will get you in the 13's, but even getting the century mark for the trap speed would be very satisfying. Hopefully on the 17th, the track is really hooking and the weather is perfect! Can't wait to see all the Chicagoland Nissan/Infiniti people there.

Fernando

p.s. appears you, Steve (Slimer) Sam (ChiTwista) and Neal will all the in the 13's on the 17th, not too shabby for four door sport sedans heh? As it stands Mike Jez (BlackBIRDVQ) will be there in the SR20 Sentra, although his 5th gen is also more than capable of running low 14's, and possibly high 13's with slicks.

Can you give us a hint on what Neal did, without divulging too much, just in case he wants to tell the story?

Awesome times Mike get those slicks on and join the 13 sec club. I can't wait to hear what Neal ran 13.4-13.5 if faster n/a that would kick a$$.

Thanks guys.

Fernando, the weather was really good high 40's with a strong tail wind. Can't wait to use the slicks on the 17th. See you out there.

Good job Mike! Nice times and traps!! I missed out on a great racing Sat. morning here in Canada... they were calling for rain but none came. I slept in and woke up to a beautiful Sat. morning... ah well hopefully next weekend!

I haven't run with my JWT ECU yet... what size slicks are you gonna be running and are you going to mount them on your Millenia rims?

What are you waiting on! Take the sucka and run some low 14's!!

I bought Neal's slicks off of him 6" wide and 26" tall. We just traded my millenia wheels with street tires for his millenia wheels with slicks (plus the price of the slicks of course)

EXCELLENT Mike... just what I wanted to hear... 26" slicks on Millenia wheels. That made me all warm and fuzzy... guess what I'm buyin this week!

Our tracks up here just opened this weekend (gotta love Winters!) The forecast was calling for possible rain so I slept in on Sat. morning, only to wake up to perfect racing weather! Curse the weatherman to h3ll!

Ah well, I hope to get many more weekends like this one in April/May. JWT took 6 months (no exaggeration) to send my ECU to me so I couldn't get any runs with it before the track closed on Nov 2 of last year. I wanna dyno too to see what it does for me!

Back on topic - keep up the good work Mike! Lets see some 13 sec gen 4s this year, with the slicks!
