It looked pretty humid out and from what I can tell, Ceasar was getting 14.4-14.5@95-96mph? I don't know if I'm going to consider the headers now.

I think its safe to say the one 95 and 2-3 96's weren't good runs considering I saw more 98's than anything. 14.2-14.4 @ 98 looked to be the most repeated.

i had some of the worst 60 foots in a long time, even a 2.4 on the 14.5 run. almost thought about just packing up and going home, but stayed and had fun. the car is faster with the headers but I havent been able to prove it in the heat.

i tried my best to get out and see what she would do, before the warm weather hit, but it wont happen until winter.

most all my runs were terrible ! you know how it is when you check out your slip and when you see that 2.3 60 you want to throw it in the trash ! lol

i just couldnt hook up

best time:

r/t:--- .476 (.400 tree)
60:--- 2.232
330:---6.087
1/8:---9.245
MPH:---77.88
1000:---11.971
1/4:---14.289
MPH:---97.19

Dave
Ceasar mostly got 14.2 all night long with runs without mishaps etc - before the headers, it was impossible in this type of heat and humidity.

I don't think you can look at the two as direct comparisons, as Ceasar has only hit 14.1 twice with the y pipe, and in BOTH instances, the weather was in the 40's, and the humidity was in the low 30's.

Take into consideration, Ceasar was running mostly 14.2's in 70+ degree weather and 80+% humidity - while I was disappointed in not seeing a good comparison headers vs. y-pipe, Ceasar's average with y pipe in similar conditions were in the 14.5 range and sometimes just plain sucked.

Anyhow, I wouldn't judge any sort of header vs. y-pipe comparison on Ceasars recent runs...... it's just not reasonable to judge the two given these sticky, humid Louisiana conditions.... and the track prep has NOT been the same as it was his previous bests.

I really hope (probably impossible) we get a cold spell soon before we go to New Zealand so we can get a really good side by side comp. - to me, the car is producing more power, it's just not been easy to show given the circumstances as of late.

Well now you're making me feel stupid because I'm pretty use to seeing upper 2.2 and lower 2.3 60 foots on my timeslips for the past 3 years

look at the weather that i dug up:
No Problem Raceway - 60' AVG: 2.261 - ET AVG: 14.404 - MPH AVG: 97.513
Cattman Headers - Best Run: 14.289 @ 97.19 mph
Date: 05-08-04
Temp: 75
Humd: 81%
BP: 30.11
******************************
No Problem Raceway - 60' AVG: 2.211 - ET AVG: 14.360 - MPH AVG: 96.435
Warpspeed Y pipe - Best Run: 14.161 @ 97.40 mph
Date: 02-28-04
Temp: 50
Humd: 54%
BP: 30.37

Is this severe enough to knock me back a mark or two in your opinion ? My best time of the night with the headers came from a 2.232 60 foot. Anyone else ?

I'd have to say the humidity is a slight problem and could probably be sucking out .1 or so. The temp and BP were pretty decent. I'd bet the reason most of you guys were slow was because of traction. You guys tend to get 2.1 60 foots on street tires and from what I've read everyone getting .1-.2 second higher 60 foots which means .2-.4 slower ETs that night. Trap speeds seemed fairly normal for your car and the Pinkpanther guy. His PB was a 14.8@91mph or something like that, correct? From the vidoes I saw it looks like he was consistently going 15.2s@91-92mph that night. The change in ET and no change in MPH suggest to me that his 60 foots were slower this go around and that the conditions had little impact on power.

I know that a lot of my car's performance depends on cool downs. If I give the car a 30-45 minute cool down then it's pretty consistent 14.4s. I've run 14.4s in 60 degree weather and in upper 80 degree weather. I've never had the chance to race in 30-40 degree weather because my track doesn't open if the temps are below 45 and it's not sunny out.

From my experience in running in hot and cold weather I would bet that you would see a PB in cold weather conditions. Nothing outragous, but probably a 14.0x. Don't know what gains you were expecting from the headers, maybe a .1 was all you wanted out of them.

I have only ran once in the heat since I started using race gas. Taking 60' times into account I was about .2 slower. I have to use higher 60' for referance because I did not pull any good 60' last time out. I don't know the humidity or BP of the different days though.

last time at Byron it was 75-80 degrees and I ran a couple 14.6's with 2.29-2.32 60'. I was trapping 96ish on all the runs

The time before it was 50 degrees out and with high 2.2's and low 2.3 60' I ran 14.4's. I even ran one 14.3 with a 2.29 60'. Traping 97-99 that day.

I don't know, when trying to compare a mod that may have only given you a one tenth and one mph gain it's too hard to compare times. IMO, there are too many variables that would come into play to really know.

agreed, i think we are looking at a .1 and 1 mph, which should be about right.

well, the chariot is parked, clutch is finally out and I cant get into any gear. time to find a new clutch and transmission, once again, mevi and ext rev limiter moved back !! I still dont think technosqaure has the ext rev limiter figured out yet so i still have some time.

LOL ! thanks for the input, im going to post a graph/chart of lots of stats today or tommorrow. bored and walking !! LOL !

My 1st times: This was my first time to every run my car. I guess I didn't do too poorly considering that:

No Problem Raceway
5-08-04

R/T----.421 (I suck, I know...ha ha)
60-----2.307
330----6.443
1/8----9.812
MPH---72.95
1000---12.707
1/4---15.150
MPH---92.70

I am 5spd. I have warpspeed y, 2.5" cat back. No spare(only helped me .014 in time).
Hopefully I can get down into the 14's with a little practice. I drove a long way down there, and had to get back. Was only able to run 5 times.

Only five times? I'm lucky to get 4 runs in unless it's 100 degrees outside

well, I didn't know.
Other guys already had 6 in when I raced my 5th.
Plus, I left at like Midnight, and some of them stayed until like 2:00 AM. They got a few more runs.

Brudaddy, you did great for your first time, and considering how crappy the track was compared to how it normally is - and that darn pro tree, you did really well!

I hope you can join us again sometime - it was great to have another Max out there represent'n!

Big Thanks to Nismo_K and Ceasar's Chariot for all their work on the videos and pictures. They look great! I am glad I got to see my red max racing.

Is there any way either of you could make me a picture with photochop or something else kind of like your sig, Ceasar? Or like Frosty's or others?
I think they look awesome.

9 runs......that is awesome! I wish I could have gotten that.
Did you end up beat your time you got while I was there of 14.2?

nope, i was trying to pay attention to the 400 light which spanked me pretty good, and had some lame launchs. if you see the race against the lighting i had a 2.4 ? I had fun but had a tough go of it with some high 60's, they were either real low or very high !

got to work on the chariot but when she is ready i will drive up to your neck of the woods , maybe jacksons 1/8 track or lena's 1/4 .. lol !

are you a slug in training or do you just want a photo like those with yo name ?

the chariot will go into gear with the motor off, but if you crank her up and try to put the shifter in a gear it will not happen.

they say 155k on the stock clutch is great so i cant complain. just got to make a good selection on the next clutch, and im planning on putting in a new tranny as well. decided to skip on the flywheel.

oh really?
and pulleys?
I think I would do all that while I was in there replacing the clutch. I mean, you might as well.

Yeah, I guess I am a slug in training. Frosty told me the requirements to become a Southern Slug, and I must get there. I don't know when, but I will get there! I guess we could wait until then. Whatever you think.
