98 GLE vs. 96 Eclipse GS-T Auto

What are your speculations on a race between the two?

My best friend has an Eclipse Gs-t with a K&n Air filter...and i have....um....clear lights..., I'm completely stock, do you think i could give him a run?

Don't see too stock auto DSMs racing, but I have seen a couple. I'd say its a tossup. They are high 15-low 16 second cars stock. Just like most 4th gen autos.

ya the GS-T are onyl FWD, so they dont have the launching advantage that the GSX has. Those cars are quick, the FWD drive ones, and I've seen some nasty AWD ones run the strip... could beat ya

yea he's right.

95-99 eclipse gst
manual - mid/low 15s
auto - high 15s/low 16s

95-99 eclipse gsx
manual - high 14s(best i've seen is 14.6 bone stock)

My friend has a 02 accord v6 auto with just intake. He also has a heavy system in the trunk. He raced a stock 97 gst auto from 50-90mph and was dead even the whole way. dunno if that helps.

You should race him and see who wins. but I'll warn u now, if he has a boost controller, DO NOT DO IT. He will destroy you. They run about $40 and can turn up the boost adding a good 30whp+. Then it's all down hill for you from there. A downpipe also adds a lot on those cars so watch out. just my .02 cents.
