I think with some thoughtful prep work like stephenmax did, an 00vi could lead a long and trouble-free life.

I stripped the moving parts out of the 00 vi and it has much higher peak than the 350z IM. But it seems the new 05 track 350z IM is a top end beast now.
When i get a dyno i will see which IM is the vq king.

Krismax, is yours a full 3.5 with 3.0 ecu just like Tilley, except with a 00-01 VI?

BTW, what other mods do you have (headers, exhaust, whatever), and what kind of peak #'s you expecting? Tilley got 238whp with a supposedly crappy A/F.

Didnt see your post till now.

Yes i will have 3.5 full but no vtc like tilley with my jwt ecu set at 8000rpm fuel cut. I will most likely have as mods

stillen intake
cattman y
cattman b
greedy muffler
unorthdox UDP
jwt ecu
pathy tb
and 00 upper and lower with gutted vi with no vias

things that may be on before dyno set of NEW headers and a piggy back that does more than fuel .with these things 250+whp without under 240whp but i will find outthis month.

Nice, that should be a sweet setup. When do you think it will be up and running?

I got the Cattman and they fit great. The damn things look so good they make you feel guilty for putting them on the car lol At least I'm not driving it in the winter.

What's SR20's opinion of the 8,000rpm fuel cut on a 3.5 VQ? I know that Nissan did a bit of revamping of the block and valvetrain for the 05 6 speed 298hp/300hp G35 and 350Z just to be able to run the 7,000rpm fuel cut reliably.

If you are gonna spin that VQ35 greater than 6800-7000rpm, you better have rod bolts, or better.

Yes i have arp rod bolts in the 3.5 and 350z valve springs aftermarket. I have watched a 3.5 rev to 7500rpm + with rod bolts with stock springs and also jason at performance nissan says that his road course race 350z sees 7800rpm with just rod bolts .

And with headers i will stay away from cattman stuff for now on ,if you want details pm me.

Im going to try some long tube headers out that i won on ebayhope they fit.

also i may get that 05 350z stuff if it proves to be much stronger id like to go to 8000reliably for now i will prob stay below 7800rpm

You've never showed this supposed link to anyone. I now think 7800 might be possible on a racecar but I am not willing to go past 7500 on my street car. The tards on My350z.com still don't believe 7500 is possible, even after a few months of me actually doing it.

in this thread post # 224 he decribes how they rev to 7800rpm with just nismo rod bolts.
http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.p...&page=12&pp=20

in my opineon if i race car can do it repeatedly than a grocery getter doing it once in a while on a 1/4 track is fine.

I may make a video of me hitting 8k with my 3.5 so you wussies and girls get some ambition

My ambition is prioritized correctly. I too love to rev the crap out of my car but my priority is to actually stay within my useable powerband. You rev your ish to 8000 just for the sake of doing so and I'll still be waiting for you at the end of the track. Lets also not forget none of you ***** would dare think of revving a VQ35 over 7200 if it wasn't for my ambition.

But thanks for finally finding AND posting that link.

You said yourself that even with your IM it isn't worth going above 7200.

And what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

Comical and Observant. Eloquent and insightful. Comments this powerful grab me by the ***** and force me to accept to the supremacy and razor-sharp humor of the VQ Wizard. Thank you for adding so much to your portfolio.

Yeah well sometimes the ironic/subtle jabs/gay smilies/in-jokes are hard to read on the internet, especially considering that the only thing I know about you is that you enjoy modding grocery getters, and engage in gearhead debates where I don't understand half of what's going on.
