13's possible w/ 5th gen on street tires?

I'm going to the track next Wed. When I told my friends that I hope to break into the 13's, they said they would pay my admission if I did. Am I being unrealistic?

I ran a 14.26 w/ an intake and y- pipe on worn potenza's.(2.27 60')

I've since installed ES motor mounts, Cattman catback, high flow cat. I also replaced the oem's w/ Kumho Ecsta 235's in March.

When I say 13's I mean 13.99 I don't expect to run a 13.7. If I don't , I'm gonna be doing headers sooner than I thought.

Even in an auto it's possible on streets. Your 60' could sue some work though.

deffinitely possible.. make sure to do all the usual tune-ups and checks before you go.. you should hit 13s.

I did a 13.9 in my auto the one and only time I tried it on streets. I just tried it because I lent my slicks to Ejj for a few runs last spring.

My times are all on street tires. So yes its possible...but you will have to get the 60ft down in the 2.1x otherwise you dont have a shot.

yeah definatly possible. I'm hopin to touch 13's this year too w/my auto. If you don't already, strip the interior of the car (seats, mats, anything else you want) - it'll help. Good luck!

Thanks for all the input guys. Yes I have a 6 sp.

I am planning on changing my oil, cleaning my air filter.

I know I have to improve my 60' and I think I can w/ new 235's.

Last time I stripped the trunk, does taking out the rear seat make that much of a difference?

taking out the rear seat doesnt make a huge difference, its surprisingly light, but its also really easy to take out. taking it out can't hurt! the front seat is significant tho, probly at least 50 lbs (estimate), so takin that out definatly helps. Also make sure you got no more htan like 1/8 tank of gas.

I used to take out the back seat but you know when people look at your car at the track they say "Oh its gutted" and it really pi$$ed me off that removing a seat made your car gutted. Now I just leave it in and they say "wow full interior too".

Really I don't care what anyone says but its nice to do the times with it in. It really is insignificat in itself. It all the rest of the stuff I have removed that makes the difference.

If it doesn't make that much of a difference, I'd leave the seats in. Hopefully I can say I ran 13's w/ full interior.

Sorry to dissapoint, but I didn't hit 13's. I did 5 runs and spun the tires off the line every time. I lowered my tire pressure to 26 and that helped my 60' a little but I still wasn't even close to hitting 2.1x . I launched at 2200- 2300. The temp was 70 when I did my best run, 15 warmer than my almost identical run last fall. Okay enough excuses; here's the facts :

60 2.28
330 6.106
1/8 9.227
MPH 79.66
1000 11.929
1/4 14.216
MPH 99.15

I'm planning on going again next weds. Any added input would be helpful. I'm def. gonna drop the rpm a little and lose a little more tire pressure. Thanks guys.

Still those are simple bolts ons, and you should be able to get the 13's easy .. practice makes perfect .. and ehaders don't hurt ... But I'd like to see an auto in the 13's w/o headers

That's exactly what I want to do is break 13's w/o headers, although I'm not auto. I'll have more practice next week.

Hey Jay, what rpm's were you launching at?

Do you remember what your tire pressure was?

That's a pretty impressive time for a n/a.
