Supercharged/full exhaust in the 1/4? to 60?
Supercharged/full exhaust in the 1/4? to 60?
just curious.. what should a 98 max with a V1 supercharger and full exhaust (from Y-pipe on), 5speed of course, run in the 1/4? how bout to 60? I havent taken it to the track yet but im eager to know what it should do. Thanks guys!
True. But it just seems like most of the time the guys just throw an SC kit on, buy some 50-pound 19s and pull 2.5 60 foots and expect 12s. The best is when they go from dedicated N/A track guys, to boost. You and Neal's setups should prove quite interesting for example.

A SC max's hp/tq #'s are kinda decieving (sp?) since the peak hp is at redline. The total power under the curve is much less than one would think. That is not to take anyting away from the big dog SC guys like Stephen Max, Iansw, Renqin6, Crewcheif etc.. who have really nice setup's. But if I had to guess the majority of SC maxima's are low 14 sec cars. But lately some more track oriented guys have boosted their cars and I think this fall there will be some interesting results, not to mention Mardi will probably see a 10 sec run.

+1, my car ran a 14.3 at 99mph with just 9lbs of boost, untuned, stock rear section(2.5in b pipe and y pipe), and no vb mod. Also this run was done on my 19" rims

wow thanks for all the replies guys!
This is my situation, I just bought the car so I dont really know exactly what it has.
How can i tell what size pulley I'm running?
Also, the car has a full exhaust, aftermarket fuel rail...and thats pretty much all i can tell. How would I know how much boost I'm running? I have a boost gauge but I always forget to look (too busy lookin at the speedo hehe) will the boost gauge give me and acurate reading? ...granted all is well internally.
I do know the car runs fairly rich, how can I get it to balance out?

just read the FI forum and it will answer your questions
looking at your boost gauge would be a good idea
Also it says what size pulley it is on the pulley if you can see it...its on the side.
I have only run the 1/4 mile 3 times (3.125 pulley), the best I have done so far was 13.64@107.6 on my DR's with 2.3x 60' times, so I have much room for improvement. I found it very hard to try to launch the car when wearing a helmet at the track, not being able to hear the motor proved to throw me off. When I ran that time I just launched from idle, I also have an open dif. so traction is a bit of a problem even with the DR's. I will be going back to the track with in a month or so, and I am hoping to get my times down.
