I finally did it

i finally made it to the time i have been waiting and trying to get to for about a month now. i went to thunder valley last night and it was an off night for me, because most of the time all of my times are almost right on. well last night i ran everywhere from a 14.1 to a 14.7 until my last run. i was having horrible traction issues. my car litteraly spinning almost to the eighth mile. but we finally made it work and on my last run i ran a 13.964 at 101.40. that was a cool feeling to have. and it's nice to see all my work pay off.

what was going on with the traction that night? is it a power issue (launching) poor tires, are you getting all the nasty water off them before hauling butt down the track ? i always spin mine to check them, if they start squealing i know they dry, if they sit and spin like your out on a wet road, just keep spinning them to they start to chirp. think you might could get a 13.79, sure looks to me like you have the power, just need to hook up !

Not to jack the thread, but am I the first 13-second Maxima in Kansas ??

" Friday At Kansas City Track - New PB
I took the Max to KCIR http://www.kcir.net/ on Friday night, for the test-n-tune session. The place was a madhouse, what with the track getting ready for the Freaker's Ball on Saturday and staging being done through the two back lanes, but I still managed to get a few runs in:

------------Run_1--------Run_2---------Run_3--------Run_4-------
R/T________.588________.118_________.348_________.09 5
60'________2.124_______2.187________2.112________2 .166
330'_______5.746_______5.896________5.805________6 .022
1/8________8.757_______8.908________8.822________9.1 15
MPH_______80.64_______80.50________81.06________79 .53
1000_______11.388______11.528_______11.448_______1 1.773
1/4________13.615______13.751_______13.886_______14. 011
MPH_______101.90______101.99________87.47________1 01.61

These runs were all with a 50-shot on launch and second-stage 75-shot after shift into second gear. I shut down around mid-point on the third pass because I was matched with an extreme hod-rod truck that ran 11.909 and 112.19 in the other lane. After looking at the numbers, I should have stayed in the throttle - might have been my best run of the evening and also ever! The 13.615 is my PB ever. "
