fastest NA stock ecu record holder!?
just came back from the track my changes from last time are no muffler and test pipe i added (resonated) muffler saved 17lbs from last time and took rear seat out just upper half bottom was out last time.
time of run was 11:53.4 AM BAR 29.46 temp 76.1 hum 99 calt:2034
wind mph:2 (headwind)
60ft 1.777
330ft 5.343
1/8 8.35988
MPH 82.11
1000ft 10.932
1/4 13.13305
mph 102.25
ran really good 60's i added double 175 lb zip ties they work great and more rubbe rblocks in the rear springs.all runs were done hot car didnt cool off because there was very few cars there .
and id like to have some thoughts on my 1000ft and top end because its just not there ,maybe its my IM not lining up. 1000ft seems really fast .
And whats killing me the most is my 4th gear shift it bogs bad. i need a EU

ok i guess someone that tunes a STI with a laptop and gains 60whp and still has a "stock" ecu bolted in his car is still stock
I guess i have to be more descriptive i iam the record holder NA with stock parameters not changed fuel timing or rev limit

Actually I have ran a 12.8 with no tune just stock settings on the EU. Today I ran a 13.0 @ 106 with no tune, stock tires on the rear and full interior. My settings for the EU when I use it are approx 40 deg timing and 7200 on the limiter. I have also switched over to using a MAP sensor to try it out doesn't seem to make any difference in performance when I tried it out on Fri, today I went back to the MAF. I do think the MAP is more consistent because it tells the ECU what the readings are vs adding or subtracting to the MAF settings like a S-AFC and standard EU tune.
I normally don't run advanced timing, raised limiter etc when bracket racing, just easier on the car because I run approx 25 races a year and would like it to last until at least this fall so I can spray it and see what it will really do.
The difference between using the EU and not is about .3 in the 1/4 mostly due to increased rev limiter and timing. My cutout is good for around .2-.3 which I was running today, gotta luv the sound. I don't open it until after I burn out, kinda makes the guy in the next lane wonder wth is going on.

My race weight was around 2800 what was yours?
Iam gonna find a 2k3 IM and do a same day test at the track next time a go ,iam sure it will be better than a non fitting IM.

, we are talking about NA Maximas with a piggyback unit not a damn stand alone turbo car. Sorry that you arent the fastest or quickest but trying to claim a record for fastest NA stock ECU untuned is pretty silly. Take it as you want it, its a nice ET....
That's a good time especially if those atmospheric conditions are correct. 29.46 is uber low pressure... like tropical storm low lol.
when you say you added double 175lb zip ties... do you mean you had two on there, or twice as many as you had before (how many)?

sorry iam not good at proof reading my stuff to see if it makes sense. i meant i added double thea amount i used last time when i ran there is 16-18 on each side i believe now . i cant believe the diff they make nose stays down . I could actually take the springs out of the perch there compressed so much now.
i have a ? is 10psi for slicks to low ? I keep them around that ,this is only my second or 3rd time using them.
If you can't hook a high RPM clutch dump with 12 psi in your slicks, you need taller slicks, simple as that. Tire sizing is the key. We should really stock f*cking around with 23" and 24.5" slicks. Sure they'll work okay but if you really want consistancy I would opt for 26-inch slicks for any boosted car or VQ35 fourth gen.
We don't own civics. Our only advantage is a longer wheelbase (good for FWD drag cars, people are now ditching hatches and going for sedans). Our cars make torque. They are heavy. Tall, relatively narrow slicks work for the best of both worlds. Like a 26X8.5". They are awesome for the launch (fat sidewall) and when the contact patch goes back to normal after the launch, they don't rob much trap speed because they are narrow and thus don't create too much rolling resistance.
I am convinced that a well setup 4th gen (with a reasonable 2750-2800 curb weight) can bang out 1.65-1.70's 60 footers consistantly. Screw the slicks to the rims, jack the rear way up, dump from redline. And hold on

the 1.77 60 ft was launched at 5500rpm ive never tried higher my 60ft before that with 5k dump was 1.83 60ft.
in a 2-3 weeks iam gonna try for a 12.9 . i need to put my CF trunk on

iam also gonna try a bigger maf see what that does
Krismax: Good time! With some tuning you'll go faster yet! You're certainly nice and light.
JClaw: you should see me hitting those 60's before too long. Car has been down for repairs/upgrades for several weeks but in a couple of weeks I should be back at the track with suspension improvements and maybe a couple small power ones too..

I should get some slicks, and really see what the car can do.
