Beat PB (USIM) still refuses to hit 100 mph

Sold the technosquare ecu a few months back so running stock ecu with same mods. I was hoping for a best of 14.1 - 14.2 with some luck at the track, and the track could have doubled as an ice skating rink today. Crazy times for sure and I guess this is farewell to the USIM, last race with it was today.

Main Mods:
- KN Filter
- Frankencar Midpipe
- Cattman Headers and Catback
- UDP
- Hoosier Drag Radials
- Stock ECU and USIM

Round 1: (13 psi) tire pressure

60: 2.596
1/8th: 10.01@77.31 mph
1/4: 15.006@99.78 mph

Round 2: (13 psi) tire pressure

60: 2.451
1/8th: 9.504@79.24 mph
1/4: 14.482@98.68 mph

Round 3: (13 psi) tire pressure

60: 2.327
1/8th:9.297@79.48 mph
1/4: 14.280@98.13 mph

Round 4: (13 psi) tire pressure

60: 2.640
1/8th: 9.629@79.50 mph
1/4: 14.584@99.17 mph

Round 5: (10 psi) tire pressure

60: 2.064
1/8th: 8.900@79.84 mph
1/4: 13.863@98.82 mph

Stock ECU & USIM

00VI swap starts this week, EU install/tune when its done. will see how it goes ! fingers crossed.

what did you remove and what else did or didn't you for your times to range from 15-13sec other than tire psi. and was this run with the new wheels and tires you posted about

krismax is right, it would be easier to explain what is in the car, rather than what is out of the car. these all motor import meets are insane as for as weight reduction goes over here. timeslip shown above is my second race against a guy in an 89 civic hatch, first race i beat him by .028 then next thing I know his exhaust is pulled off and thrown off in the pits, lol ! even in that race the USIM almost cost me to lose. civic almost caught me at the finishline trapping 102 mph. Just no top end with this darn USIM ?

so yeah i have a seat, and steering wheel !

nothing changed on the max on the last run, except tire pressure, imagine that 3 lbs difference made such drastic results on one heck of a slippery day. you literally couldnt touch the gas without the tyres spinning. So been quite some time since i have had to deal with such a tractionless track.

i was never able to get those wheels, still running same 16 inch SSR's/hoosiers weighed them yesterday at 33 lbs wheel and tire combo, then for fun weighed my wifes 15" volk racing ce28n's with Toyo PX4's 29 lbs.

man thats amazing is your website updated I can check there for your mods and weight reduction. I was looking to get some mazda wheels heard they weight only 11lbs each but I am going to bring my scale with me. any suggestions on tire size, I was thinking 225/60/15's. I am currently running 205/60/15's and pulled a 2.2-2.3 60ft

is the carpet gone too, lol

yes, all 18 lbs of it, every 6 months i pull the interior and then put it all back in for warrant of fitness here. if there was a competion at Maxus on who could strip a maxima interior out the fastest i would challenge Aaron, krismax and some of the other guys on here ! ROFL !

In all honesty though, with some experience you can put these interiors back in pretty mint, only the more race oriented peeps usually go to such extreme measures.

thanks dude, man im hoping with OOVI swap and Greddy EU mid 13's will come. Installing/Tuning the EU is going to cost a pretty penny. very tempted to get 00VI installed and go with an rpm switch until the greddy eu goes in.

any thoughts on that ? 00VI kicking in at 5000 rpm is it ? surely couldnt hurt to 6500 even with this setup ?

Good job man! The air must have been pretty good for you to beat your PB without the TS in there.

Loving the scenery in that pic you posted! (and the car's nice too.. lol). Will see it firsthand soon enough.

18 lbs for the carpet though? Mine only weighed around 12 or so... I have always had it in the car though racing. I've never pulled it or the door panels out either.

I went from 15.1@91 to 14.7@96 with the change from USIM to 00VI and a few other little things. I'd guess the manifold accounted for at least 2/3 of the gain though (the high rpm power makes a huge difference in the 2nd half of the track - +18mph to ~+21 even at stock rev limit). I think that once fullly tuned you'll surpass your goal... go ahead and shoot for 12s you can do it! I'm going to shoot for 13's on street tires next season (saving $$ for EU myself).

Good times and nice scenery....where's the track located exactly?? I almost bought a '98 Max in Brandon, MS last month but don't have time to get down that way right now...last time down that direction I was driving back and forth to Moss Point and Longbeach helping w/disaster relief...

BTW, how noticeable was the difference between the TS and stock ECU?? Still running the same fuel grade?

Nice runs Ceasar, the intake will help for sure. We just keep trying new stuff and spending more money and eventually we will go quicker. But its fun.

Love the scenery, I would be happy just to sit there and watch with your background.
