the VG30E (SOHC) was offered in the 89-94 max as well as the quest. VG30DE was, as he mentioned offered in the 300zx in both N/A and TT forms (VG30DE-TT) and the J30

To the original poster, it completely depends on your particular car to determine the launch. I had horrible tires and motor mounts so I couldn't even launch from over 1k without getting tremendous amounts of wheel hop and spin. Just go to the track and try several launching techniques and see what works best for you.

i think thats like 150 or 200 rpm away from redline. i personally drop the clutch at 2000rpm and it gets me traction will about 5k at which i switch over to 2nd. just figure out your car/tires/suspension etc.

i have a 4th gen with stock suspension and stuff, all i have is an intake and exhaust.

Just keep practicing. Find the spot where you don't bog and don't spin much. Remember, a 2.4 60 foot SUCKS. Your car is capable of doing some 2.2s or 2.3s on street tires stock.

My VE Auto was a different story when it was stock. I was doing 2.5s without chirping the tires off the line. Boy what a difference today!
