That's a sick trap speed for that ET!!!!

100mph
Any one with common sense will tell you that intake sucks.

It's a good intake I just think maybe I screwed up or something but I ran like 10 times and everytime it read 14.9, 14.8, 14.8, 14.9, 15.0, I know the car pulls harder, I think maybe I just wasn't launching the car the right way I should, I launched @ 3000rpm, my 60ft. was a 2.6 and 0-60 was a 6.8 so I think it was all in my launch because a 14.8 with that 0-60mph and 60ft. time is pretty damn good.

Unless you have dyno proof, that intake is not a good design in the 02-03 Maxima. In the 04+, it's a bit bettter design.

the stock design is pretty sh1tty, i have one for my 4th gen, i slightly modded it so it doesnt take air right from the rad in. I think it helped, the only reason why i got it, was i got it for cheap, and i didnt want a 3" hole in my inner fender.

Sweet, I finally got a good run in my gtech, I ran a 14.4 @ 101mph, I guess like I said maybe just I had some bad launching the last time so I let some air out of my tires, so I guess that actually is a good intake.

That trap speed is incorrect. Got to a real track, not G-tech.

yeah g-techs are a waste of money to be honest...spend the money to go to a real drag strip and get accurate results.

I'm surprised no one commented that the Injen is not a "true" cai. Anyway, Injens know for loosing power at the low end. If you want better results, you need a true cai like Place Racing. Too bad they don't make them anymore.

We didn't say that directly, but in so many words, yes we did.

The only reason that I use that G-Tech is because it's winter time and my home track is not open until March or April, I won't have to do anything for my Intake to work, it already does, it is a good intake, it does not ping either.

ill be hitting up a dyno soon, i might have time to do a run with stock intake and 1 with my injen..time permitting though. Hopefully ill be able to shed some light on the whole injen thing and get a definate answer. i didnt notice a difference in performance but god damn it sounds good.

when you run with the injen close the hood this will be closer to real world #'s cause no-1 drives around with no hood on. From what I seen most intakes do work on the dyno with a big *** fan and hood up or off but if you even close the hood and trap the hot air the hp #'s drop

well i understand where you are coming from, but if money permits id like to make runs with hood open and closed, then compare the numbers to the stock intake, but if money doesnt permit i will just go hood open. The injen intake is not bad, in my case the butt dyno even though hardley accurate didnt notice any loss in power nor any gain, but it sounds crazy, people have a hard time believing just the intake makes that much noise.

Instead of doing those runs, use a probe and gather real IAT data. Since many factors will affect the #'s, and not just one single factor alone.

Actually thats a better idea, my 98 SE 5MT has the injen, I can use my snap on obd-2 reader to check intake air temperatures. I also have a bone stock 98 SE 4AT, ill check the intake air temps on that. I remember during normal crusing the outside temperature was around 15C, i belive the intake air temp was around 25C with the injen, but awhile idling for awhile it went up to about 38C.

I may be able to test this out tomorrow.

update: havent been able to do any testing yet, theres a little over 1ft of snow (37CM) and my car refuses to move in the snow. Ill let you know when i do it. This test will be done using the stock IAT.

my 02 se 6spd just ran 14.6 at 96.64 last night at the track so your se with intake has got to run better than that at a real track, at least 14.2 with a good lanch!! go to a real track you'll be much happier!

Booyah

I just ran the car with my catback and test pipe with my Injen Intake and got a 14.1 @ 101 on the G-tech, that is a damn good run, my 0-60mph was 5.8sec. The intake had to have worked because there is no way that just a catback and test pipe boosted my E.T. 7/10's. But I think at the track this summer I should be in the 13 range if I am lucky.

g-tech is not all it's cracked up to be, go to a real track and get real times with and without the intake and you will see for yourself

Yeah...I used to have a G. They're really inaccurate. There's no substitute for the track!

I don't think the bragging of this Injen should be bragged about unless there is real proof. I had one in my '00 and it was CRAP, car ran like garbage on lowend, I must have lost so much power. I now have a short arm and it feels ten times better then the Injen.
