Whats a good street/strip tire?

Just like the title emplies: Whats a good set of tires to use both for street and strip useage? I've heard of a few different kinds, like Nitto E/T streets, but I've heard that people have trouble getting even 15K miles out of them. Anyone else here have any ideas? -Ben

A BFG G-Force, Toyo T1R or a Toyo P4. Those are the best that I have found.

ithink for the street bf's drag radials are the best, if you have power you need them to hook. and for the track i have been recommended to stick to slicks, bc they absorb shock and prevent wheel hop that causes most of the damage. as far as regular tires, the falkens ziex 512 have good traction. but i think when you have power, you will always spin. so i think your 60 foot times will suffer a bit.

as far as being able to pull 2.0 sixty ft times on 17 inch street tires, ??? maybe possible if your not spraying on first or you dont have too mucj power. bc i have ran 13.24 on reg ziex 512 225/60 15. but i never was able to hit a 2.0,but it may be possible on a na.

Nitto 555Rs are the ultimate street-strip tires for the RWD guys since they are driveable in the rain. Dunno how good they do on FWD cars, but Neal pulled a 1.90 or so 60 foot on 17-inch 245 nittos.

A lot of people run g35 rims which are 18x8 so most run a 235-245

You can get some decent 17x8 that are lighter than the g35's and are just as wide. Alittle more money but its worth it i think. g35driver is a good site to look for the g rims...edgeracing and tirerack are good for wheels that i know off..

What is cheap to you?

You should post your time up in the timeslip database.

What size are you guys ordering for the t1r's? I'm still on stock wheels and the 225/50's are not showing up on edgeracing but they are for the 235/45 17's. Would those fit on a stock wheel?

Proxes T1-R, even T1-S(not sure if there still made tho). My freind has them on his Z32, he has a few mods, but they hook really good, i borrowed them off him once to make a run, and minus the wheel hop i got i did manage a 2.14 60ft. too bad i missed 3rd
