Edit: for the video click here.

Set some new PB's yesterday at the track. The "little" old 3L went 12.83 @ 106.90 mph. On another pass it trapped 108.26 mph (on a 12.90 ET).

Scary thing is, there's a few tenths left in it yet. The car's only roughly tuned and I had a lot of problems with it breaking up at high rpms due to sudden lean-out. I'm lucky these are tolerant engines and I'm N/A or the motor would have blown. Thankfully I had the knock sensor working overtime. It was unexpected, the night before I wasn't seeing that as much doing some street tuning, thought it was safely rich so I need to look into it, might be a fuel pump/supply issue or it could be the stock ECU switching tables on me again (don't even ask how many problems the stupid Nissan ECU has caused me). Also, my launches and shifts were a bit rusty shall we say, not having raced in a year... that plus a shifter **** that's stripped and comes right off the shaft - so mostly pulling 1.8x sixty foots, worse than the mid 1.7's I'm used to. I think I'm going to change my launch technique a bit with this setup now too, it needs to be launched a bit higher than last year's.

Considering all the factors, I'm thinking this car should be able to do 12.6x and trap 109. I never had 1 solid pass all day yesterday. Even the 12.83 and 12.90 were glitchy. Others were worse; for example the car crapping out up top turned a half-decent start on a 1.79 sixty foot into a 13.05 @ 94.57, and on another run it turned a 1.88 sixty foot into a 13.19 @ 88.77. ( at the trap speed)

Anyhoo, timeslip is below, and I have video footage which I'm just editing together and will post soon.

Nope sorry, not yet, too many issues to sort out still. I'll get on the dyno to fine tune it/get some numbers once I have the car where I want it.

That's absolutely nuts, Dandy. I hope to go that fast someday boosted, but you can do it NA and that's downright scary.

Fantastic job, Dandy! And no wisecracks about how Canadian air is actually 20% nitrous.

Say, would you like a heads-up when PINKS does their next show for All-Out racing? You would really shake up Rich with a mid-12's 4-door Maxima!

Seriously - you have done a fantastic job on that new engine. Congrats.

EDIT: please let me know if the video is showing up in the correct aspect ratio - it's supposed to be widescreen but I think I might have screwed up and ended up with it in 4:3 which will make everything look squished...
Yeah it looked squished. I loved the editing BTW. It definalty needs to be on youtube so everybody can see what are cars can do.

Shoot. Thought so. Thanks for letting me know. Alright I'll have to re-render it but I can't do it now, gotta go out but I'll leave the link up for now so people can watch it even if the car's squished... lol

I'll put the vid up on Streetfire and YouTube once I fix it.

wow, dyno time...we to justify those times...lol
and estimate weight if possible...you keep pushing the boundaries dandy, just when everyone probably though a 3.0L N/A would never break into 12's...it's amazing we can run such good times for a FF car with not that much power to be honest compared to many other cars around the same weight that run low 13's and never faster with a whole lot more power...ie. evo's and sti's (no traction excuses there)...so I guess how and when the power is made is crucial...

we need some inside video one of these days to hear what it sound like in cabin...!

OK I fixed the video I think... same link up top in the first post but different file.

To all who asked about a mod list, it's been updated in my sig.

Quote: How much does it weigh?
Same as last year, actually a little heavier, I left the rear seats in this time. Check the timeslip database.

Quote: What size slicks you running?
M&H 24.5x8.5x15

Quote: What's your rev limit at?
Once I have it tuned up properly, 8200 most likely.

Quote: lol @ the music in the video, sounds like you are in braveheart or something.

"FREEEEEDOMMMMMM!!!!!!"
Freedom from 13's - hah. So you liked the music or you didn't?

I've thought of it, just haven't had time to rig up some kind of mount system, but I plan on doing it at some point. I think I'm also going to try some new angles from behind the starting line looking down the track from a tower view etc.

if you still have the passenger seat in the car, I use this:

works with all cameras and is very adjustable and steady...!

I usually take the passenger seat out but it wouldn't take much to rig up a mount/bracket using the vacant bolt holes, or something off the rear deck... I'll get around to it eventually, would be cool to have an in-car video. It's really loud in there with the cutout open though.. lol

Cool, thanks. Wasn't sure which way you meant it... but yeah, the music was chosen exactly for that reason.

It was slower. lol. I was just rusty and going on 2 consecutive nights with 4 hrs sleep - that plus a floating/unattached shifter ****. As I said above, it'll go faster yet for a number of reasons.

oh i see, yeah it definitely has more in it. i didn't want to say it before you confirmed, but that shift sounded pretty brutal, I bet you're giving up almost a tenth right there. i know when I shift 1-2, you cant even tell that I've shifted except for the wheelspin and change in engine tone, I suspect yours are the same way normally.
