Run into any unusual 1/4 mile vehicles?

This machine was at a race I was at last year in Shannonville. We have a class here for bikes and sleds, an unusual combination but there are so few that they run together. Well this guy went a step further. I went over to look at it and got talking to the guy who built and raced it. Believe it or not he was older than me.

It runs 9's in the 1/4 with no NOS Vin.

Doing good Jeff. Getting back to normal, can walk, drive and type with 2 fingers. Going to be slow from here on but I think I will be pretty much ok when the racing season starts in April. I never dreamed I would be doing what I am at this point. My goal was to be able to walk by myself by Christmas, but at the rate I am going I should be running.

Very nice! When I did my bracket racing in Las Vegas, there was a guy in the Bike class running 9s in his snowmobile. Of course, it was converted over just like this. But boy it sounded crazy flying down the 1/4 mile!

Def. very unique. I don't know if anyone else saw this but Pinks filmed an episode when two sleds ran against one another. One was a newer 4 stroke and the other was an older 2 stroke and the older sled won.

Thats pretty cool.

I think the weirdest car I've seen at the track would have to be this Ultima. I dont have any info on it really. But it ran somewhere in the 12's.

That up at Capitol? He was supposed to show up at an MDSS meet a while back, never did though. Do you know if that's his DD?

Yeah thats capitol. I've seen it once before at a megameet in VA. It was in pretty bad shape back then. It had lots of rust and paint chips all over it. I dont know if its his DD or not. I have video of it on one of my racing tapes some where.

how about my 2004 Honda Element 5spd with an intake and a flowmaster exhaust running a 16.4 on the first run and a 16.6 on the second...not bad for a stock 4cyl 4wd box

My mom decided to run her minivan down the 1/4 a few times when I used to run my spec V every once in a while lol. She actually made it to the 2nd to last bracket in the street/import class during an event b/c she was nailing the r/t and ran a 16.6-16.7 every single run. I got eliminated before her

that ultima should be way faster than 12s, more on the order of 9's or 10's. i mean shoot, it goes 0-100-0 in 9's

The Ultima GTR is just a rollin chassis. There are no specific "out the box" times because it doesn't come with a motor. Most of the time, people throw LS(x) motors in there. It's cool that guy was at the drag strip, but they are usually for pure handling. Even cooler, they usually require 315/45/18 on the rears!

wow, def seems like the ultima should be faster than that. but 00max is right, they are def for handling. on the other hand, they are ***** out fast in any type of line.

Yeah that 12 second run wasnt a good one. He had let off at the end. I'm pretty sure I have it on tape some where I'll have to look for it.
