my first track day =( vol. disappointed

edit!! VIDEO FINALLY!! DONT MIND MY EXCESSIVE BURNOUT LOL ITS MY FIRST TIME

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcomIsXKUnk

as many of you may know, im chasing the legendary kevin007s (R.I.P.) time at the track. 12.8 was the time i was trying to beat. Statistically, i should have beat these times with no problem . Kevin's Dyno was 270hp/284 tq on a dynojet. I did over 300 hp/tq on a mustang dyno which reads lowers.
if you just base it off that without kevins driving skill, i should be in the low to mid 12s?

Tires used were
18x8.5 rays track wheels wrapped in mickey thompson street radials 245 40 18

rear: 18x8 rays track wheels wrapped in dunlop direzza star specs same size.

that being said, my 60 ft times were pretty crappy. Kevin did have nitto 555r DRAG radials. maybe it was a combination of that +driver skill. Keep in mind this was my first time at the track.

comments welcome!!

kevin your a beast. i dont know how you did what you did!!!

+1 on mod list. Your times can only improve once you get your 60' down.

With the same 60's as Kevin you would be in the 12's. Good job for your first time out.

you'd definitely be in the 12s, but not low 12s with those trap speeds. keep working at it or get some slicks.

try this site..

http://www.mtsconverter.com/mts-to-mpeg-converter.html

i think you should be able to dl the program that lets you on there.. if that doesn't work, i would try looking on google for a step by step on how to convert it.. thats what i did.. or maybe youtube might have it too?

in for the video

Mickey Thompson tires are wayyyyyyy better than nittos.
Also, your tire is a drag radial

I think you just have to mess with the tire pressure to get them to hook.

108 trap looks like high 12's even with a decent 60'.

Nice run. Sounds cool.

300whp is not that hard with a bolt on VQ35HR. I believe his claim with no doubts. People underestimate the potential of the VQ for all motor power.

Do some research and see for yourself.

Not for torque though 300 torque w/o N2O...

either way, it's a good time and it be nice to see a mod list and perhaps, a dynojet dyno.

i remember he have a mod by maxima.org:
Technosquare ECU but i not know about L or F- Spec
Injen Intake
VQ35HR built heads, (cams, valve springs, shims, retainers)

also my bro have maxima 5 spd auto and i told him, he saw a maxima vq35hr go 13.1 by youtube and my bro decide he plan to put alot of mod on his car (soon) but he told me that his car is 265 hp and 255 torque and one thing of mod make a 340 hp and 310 tq @ flywheel WITHOUT A N20!!!!!!

i cant tell u a secret mod i hope he will kill a maxima NA VQ35HR PERIOD! lol

get lightweight 16inch wheels in front, MT drag tires and get thinner wheels/tires in the back with 40psi in them, strap the front shocks down with ratchet straps to reduce front shocks motion while shifting and launching...

still place for improvement in the small details...but most important is the 60foot and launch.

Looks good for a first time man, get those times down.
