So, We have established how much many of us paid for our Maximas as well as many modifications and repairs that have been done. How much would you be willing to put into a full scale, ground up, body off resto?

I love the beast...if I had the cash, money would not be an object. The gee-whiz factor would be great incentive, also. All those young ricer punks wouldn't know what to do when a 14+ yr old wagon rips them a new one...cause the full-off resto would allow some serious mods, also...a fully balanced and blueprinted, slightly bored, and maybe stroked motor, running 8.8:1 comp dished pistons, ported and polished heads, cams, custom exhaust headers, lightweight flywheel, race-prepped 5-speed, dual disc clutch, etc...

grinning ear to ear! if only!

IF I won the lottery whatever it needed to get it done. Id prolly have a maximum amount of 15k, but Im sure it wouldnt get up that far. THis is all if I had the money to do it. I seriously would if I was richer. Plus I think around 14-15k was the amount our cars were worth brand new anyway.<- I read that some where so correct me if Im wrong about the new car price.

I would never do a restoration on a Maxima. If I even had a couple thousand dollars to my name, I'd sell this junker and buy another Maxima that is in excellent condition with low miles. (even if its out of state) That would be close to what I could do with a restoration.

But that's me. I'd rather restore an old 240Z or something like that.

Before I'd restore a Z, I'd restore one of the cars Datsun coppied the Z car from, like an MG C-GT or a Triumph Spitfire GT6+ But that's me.

If I were going to get a car to restore, it would have to be the Datsun 510. That was one sweet machine.
