Rear Emblem/Painting Trunk Lid Strip
Rear Emblem/Painting Trunk Lid Strip
I'm just wondering how do you remove the NISSAN MAXIMA rear emblem, is it held on by just glue? I'm wondering because the previous owner painted the whole car and he painted the strip across the bottom of the trunk lid that is supposed to be black. It's looking bad and really bothering me because the outer ends of the tailamps are black on top and it looks weird. I think it will look better if I paint the strip black and it will blend with the lamps more, I'll remove the emblem along with that because it's painted over and is coming off. Or do you think I should just paint the outer ends of the lamps white? Or the whole strip black? BTW: My maxima is white.
EDIT: Any tips on painting that part? I plan to take the strip off, I believe it's held on by some screws. Sand/scrape the white paint off, primer, paint and clearcoat. Is this the correct way to go about this?
Sorry I can't post a pic right now, because it's dark out. I'll try to get a bunch of pics tommorow.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the tips! I'll need to get some black primer, and hopefully I'll finish it by the end of today.
Anyways here's a pic of the car when it was on autotrader made by the previous owner:
The sun made it look yellow.

Go to cardomain.com and put the pictures of your car there. Then you can just reference the link to where your pictures are stored at on cardomain.com's server. That's probably the easiest way to do it, though keep in mind that maxima.org has a limit on the size of the picture file, I believe it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 50K.
