Hot start issue
Hey folks, I'm tired today and don't feel like thinking very hard. Anyway, any of you have problems with your car running really rough when starting the motor hot? It has been an off an on thing for my car, but lately, it seems like its getting a bit more sever. Basically when I start my car, it starts fine, but idle very rough. When I try to give it gas, it feels like the engine is choking. I don't notice any smoke from the car, after a minute or two, it clears up and the car runs normal. Any ideas where I should look? I know I have to check the ECU, but I can't seem to get it out.

Hey maximase86,
I have the same type of problem with my 84.
Starts and warms up great when cold but when hot, the car runs extremely rough and hunts for idle. Sometimes it stalls out but will start to smooth out once I'm on the gas for awhile.
Any luck on finding the problem?
If not, I plan on digging into my issue soon and I will post a followup should I find anything.
Cheers
Bernie

gundamwzero suggested that I step down on the octane gas I'm using. I have always put 92 octane into my car. He said that even though its nice to put in high octane gas, it produces excess carbon. I've notice a bit of an improvement. When I did a hot start today, it seem to be very bad this time around. You notice it was there, but it cleared fairly quickly.
