Parking brake cable

Since there is not easy access to parts houses that cater to 1st gen Maximas, and plenty that do for Z cars, does anyone know if there is an interchange between the Maxima and 280ZX p-brake cable? I can live without one, but I'd rather have it.
TIA

I really doubt it...but Bleach might know since he has both a 1st gen and a 280ZX.

Well, I could get under both cars and look, (don't really have the time) but I already know the rear suspension is identical to my 1982 280zx. The only difference I would guess is that maybe the distance from the aduster near the differential to the parking brake lever might be different. The rear calipers and width of the car and everything is all the same.

Maybe get one from a junk yard cheap. Look for a 1982-83 280zx 2+2. The 82 and 83 ZX has the exact same rear calipers as the 81-84 Maxima. Or maybe if you can't find that year range just any 1979-81 280ZX 2+2. The 2+2 is your best bet for getting the right length overall. The lever inside the car is set up the same, I know that much.

If you don't know, 2+2 just means the 4-passenger models. The rear end of them is buldged a little behind the doors, so you can obviously tell from the outside.

Thanks

Victoria British (aka Long Motor Co) lists a front handbrake cable for '79-'83 2+2 and a rear cable for all '82-'83. Sounds like what I'll need. Now, how about what year struts and springs interchange

Re: Thanks

That rear piece for 82-83 should be perfect. The handbrake cable still might be a few inches too short, but its just a straight cable so I'm sure you can figure something out. They do have a few extra inches for adjustments.

The struts should be 82-83 turbo and n/a.

and the engine interchange is 1981-83 280ZX turbo only.
