On my 1987 Max I changed out the rearview mirror for a self dimming mirror out of a 97 I30. The mirror probably made to fit all the older maxs perfectly. Only 2 wires to hook up unless you want the mirror with outside temps. Thanks

You gotta watch "the junkyard hunter" more. I've installed dual sunvisors from a 98 Chevy Blazer in my car. Both sides now also has vanity mirrors and side extentions! The wifey loves that and it gives me extra lighting in my car. I am hunting for a overhead console that has the inside/outside tempeture as well as the compass. I am going to custom fit that and incorporate my XM radio into the overhead console also.
