finally something good happend with my car...

my AC doesent work so i went down to the shop to see how much it'd cost to get it fixed....the whole system is screwed....dryers screwed up and the clutch on the compressor is kinda crusty and wont budge a bit...a new compressor from the factor doesent exist so we would have to get a re bulit one....$300+ for a re bulit and $40 for a dryer...well crap i say....so my pa and i have been calling arround places for the other parts we need...and finally today we scored...a place had a same year maxima as mine and they has a a/c compressor....they pull it we go down and pick it up for $45 with a gaurentee that it works....

it looks the same but there are a few numbers on it that are different from the one in my car...so i was wondering.....which of the number are the most important?

i figure if it came out of the same year and its looks the same it'd work in mine but i thought i'd double check...were going back tommorow to get some other parts.

I don't know what numbers you're referring to, but if it's from the same year Maxima then it should work perfectly. Good luck getting your A/C fixed, I'd go nuts if I didn't have mine.

The a/c compressor is essential the same in all 2nd gens. The different numbers probably indicate a serial number or some kind of production stamp. You shouldn't have a problem at all.

It's best to get a new dryer...

When you replace the compressor, make sure to replace the O
rings at the connections.

Make sure you get O rings that are made for AC (usually green
in color).

Coat the new O rings with AC oil before you install them to
make them seal better.

Good Luck!
