o2 sensor

ok i figured out why my sensor light came on at 160,000 miles...

i think the ecu only reads ##,### so the 1 in 160,000 doesent get read by it so it thinks its 60,000 miles again and it popped on...i'm gonna reset it tommorow...

that beside the point though...i'm getting some pretty funky smelling exhaust i think it has to do with my O2 sensor and i was wondering if there was a way i could physically check the sensor it self seeing how an ECU diag. is a pain in the butt when you have to pull the seat

Get a voltmeter, a FSM/Chilton's/Haynes and dive into it.

You could also get "funky" exhaust gas smell from loose exhaust manifold bolts.

I can also smell the exhaust gas until the engine warms up completely especially if I have my window down or have the heater/a.c fan on with the vents set to "fresh" air.

But once the engine warmed up, the gap "disapears" between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold and the exhaust gas stops escaping there.

I was told, that it's not a cheap procedure to have this problem fixed, because the manifold bolts are pain in the but to remove, so I decided to live with this flaw.
