3 Problems Black smoke, voltmeter, lo power

Had to find a cheap car for my friend TODAY or he was going to be fired tomorrow. I found the CLEAN Little Old Lady car for $500 84 Wagon AC even works! Required in Florida! Runs and starts great. 1) He says car lacks power I seen a little black smoke when accelerating, not a cloud obviously rich, timing chain / injector problem? Has anyone replaced adjusted a tc before? He didn't buy a manual yet. 2) Dash voltmeter reads 10v, tap gas 14v, same RPM, is alternator going to puke?

sounds like the alternator is on it's way and these cars have a timing belt, so you might want to change it soon

welcome
