1988 Maxima Interior smells like smoke
Just inherited my mother in law's beautiful 1988 Maxima - always garage kept and constantly polished and maintained - except for the fact that she smoked cigarettes in it.
How does one remove cigarette smoke smell from vinyl and leather?
A better question might be: Will other models/years seats fit in my 1988 Maxima? I have seen some nice Nissan/Infiniti seats in the boneyard.

Well, you should be able to swap seats no problem for the front seats, the rears however need to be from a 2nd gen, as it's a bench seat. The other option is some really really good leather cleaner/condition and a crapload of febreze or something like that.

agreed...and allow it to air out as much as possible, too...with all the windows open, etc...
You will also likely need to rent a carpet cleaner/shampooer if you don't own one, and clean the carpets, and the headliner, and as much of the door panels as possible...
