whats the demand for second gen parts?

Hey guys - new to this forum, but considering buying a 1987 Maxima thats lightly crashed (rear axle damaged, cracked wheels, bad body from the accident) to part out. I believe it's a 5-spd. Im assuming the interior is in good shape, and has a new exhaust and headers.

What is the value of such a car? it is driveable but barely, the alignment is very off.

The guy is offering it for $200. Is it easy to make that money back with this generation car? I know with a VW i'd be golden. any input aprpecited!

Thanks

call some salvage yards - you might be able to sell the entire car for $400-500.

Junkyards around here give you 50$ if your lucky, and thats driving the car to the yard. it'll give it a shot and call the boneyard though, thanks for the advice.

hmm as long as the frame is not damaged..its rebuldab;e. I can tell you this from experience. If you are up to the task and are creative you can restore it back to how it was. New wheels.. bondo (try not to use it alot) and fiberglass ! fiber glass works wonders. Myc ar was wrecked twice..i got it back to shape./ the second wreck was considered a total loss .... dam liar cops. shopw anted 700 to fix it.. I fixed it for 100. BUT if you are going to sell it. Sell me the headers :P and I need the small metal pice that holds the support rod, I think you can sell it as a parts car and get more money from it that what u get. ..example.. ac comressor, engine, transmission, wires, body parts , fenders, doors, windows and etc. I am really interested in the headers and that part if you are willing to sell. If you are planning on rebulding make sure the engine is in good condition and the transmission. 200 dlls is not a bad price. I got mine for 400 (bad engine ) had to buy anoither parts car for 200. As in you needing for parts, they are quite easy to find. Also stanzas , 300sx, sentra hasve the same parts almost, clutch cylinders, brakes, a ouple of things.
