Gen 1 AT trans mount for diesel

Pity that the search function is disabled . . .

I have an '82 wagon w/LD28 diesel. Anybody have a source for a new transmission mount?

Regards,
Al S.

www.car-parts.com seems to be a good listing for parts. They are used however. On the 2nd generation Nissan Maxima Group on yahoo, there is a link there on how to make your own poly urethane mounts.

Trans Mount

You may also try getting the parts out of same year 240,260 and 280Z cars as they share a lot of parts.

Hope this helps

Yeah, I'm familiar with them, I've used them quite a bit. Nice resource. No explicit listing for trans mounts, though, and I'm really looking for new.

Two points: for diesel, softer is better. And Gen 2 is FWD, of course, but anyway Thanks for trying.

NAPA has no listing, I've got another parts store putting a query into WorldParts, and I suppose I should give the dealer a call. I'm starting to get worried: five years ago (when I first sold this car to a friend) I could buy nearly anything for it. I bought a new starter from Nissan for $170 in '99. I bought a new headpipe + resonator assy, it took only a couple of days to come in.

Now I've got the car back after five years, and I can't even buy a stoopid power steering hose! NLA at the dealer, no listing with two other parts houses. It's unique to the LD28, not shared with the L24E, and the fitting to the back of the Atsugi pump is 5/8"-18, which is not a hydraulic fitting I can just find on the shelf anywhere.

I cut off the hose and crimp sleeve, and am having a std female hydraulic fitting welded to that 5/8"-18 hose end, so I'll effectively have an adapter to a std hyd. fitting. Then I can have a regular (custom made) hydraulic hose made to mate to that adapter fitting to the pump. The other end of the hose can be a HD hydraulic compression fitting to the 5/16" steel tubing at the rack, or I can flare the 5/16" tubing and mate to it that way.

Either way, it's a downer that I can no longer buy these parts from the dealer, and I have to delve into fabrication just to change a PS hose!

At least I can still get the injection pump belt & tensioner. Since they're supposed to be replaced every 60k, and I had the first one strip at 86k (it's got 152k on it now), I suppose I may want to buy a spare so I can change it again in 2007-8? Hmmm.

Regards,
Al S.

The instructions for the mounts are car specific, but as you said pointed out, these won't be soft. Either way good luck with the search.

I was able to order it from the dealer. About $100, it'll be in next week.
