Digital Instruments Good or not.

Does anyone know if the optional digital instruments offered in the 1st and 2nd (even the 3rd generation) were an advantage or disadvantage and if so , why, with regards to readability, cost to repair if it fails, and how much electricity if any it uses. Thanks.

Well, I would probably say the digital dash was cool for it's time. However they tend to be unaccurate, were prone to breaking easily, and cost a lot to replace when compared to an analog unit. Readability were pretty good....but I still prefer the look of analog gauges. As for the rest of the questions, I don't really have answers for them.

I personally hate digital instruments...big ugly no no on nissan's part. I love nissan but WTF! lol. I have a digidash myself and the only thing that works is my RPM guage. I actually was wondering how easy or what would invovle in converting to analog?

From what I heard...it's a lot of work most likely. Probably not worth all the trouble.
