help car is runnin like ****!!!

it almost let me sit on the way to work. it was crusin right along and all of a sudden it lost all of its power. wtf! sorry but now im ****ed. im running out of ideas of things to check. i dont have money to get new sensors. i dont even know wehre to start. as i started to climb a very very small hill the car began sputtering and backfiring like the plugs were fouled. i put the pedle to the floor and it bogged down. next thing i knew it took off like a shotgun and was fine for about 2 miles then it did it again. i faught with it and it still didnt want to run right. i got to work and unhooked the battery to reset the computer for 8 hours. it ran ok the whole way home but i cant keep doing that. any ideas??

Take out the passenger seat and see what codes it's throwing. Mine use to do that. But it's been so long and I done a lot to the car since then. My car is about 50% new sensors right now. And it still runs like dukie.
I know your ****ed but when you get it finally working right it will be worth it(thats the phrase that goes through my head as I look at my bank statement and wonder where all my money went?)

I was going to say the same thing (replace the ecu) but I may be wrong and get flamed 'round here. First price a ecu at a junkyard (not all junked cars are bad, just bad drivers) I say 75% of the time, an ECU isn't bad at a junkyard. Tryi it out if it's cheap. If you haven't had any problems after you changed it, there you go.

hey man what happened?

Oh yeah the dukie problem my car had is gone. Checked codes, it said 23 TPS (throttle Position Sensor). I erased the code adjusted the TPS so the ECU could read the idle contact, and pow the car has no hesitation,or dying at idle. Still some black smoke but that might be because I adjusted the Idle. Once the Idle is reset its MSD SCI all the way.

Yeah this fixed another prob. When the TPS contact couldn't be found there was a constant vaccum coming from the EGR control valve solenoid. When it was fixed the vaccum went back to normal. It only comes on when the car is above 1000 rpm. Finally saving gas!!!!

The black smoke could also just be built up carbon breaking loose in the exhaust too.

Thats what I think too. It only smokes when I first start the car from a cold start. When it gets hot there is no color to the exhaust.

I just hope that running so rich didn't kill my cat.
Oh sarin I'll be getting an MSD 6300 soon. Strictly for emmissions. I'll tell you how much gas it saves me.

Want some MSD wires to go with that? They are the Helicoil ones, but you'd have to find the right ends for them. Only one of the wires is made, but it has a wrong end on it, but there is plenty of wire to cut it off and put the right one on. Asking $50 plus shipping.

because I got the wrong ends for them. And decided to buy NGK wires then because I was ****ed about that. They are brand new. They are for 6 cyl applications.
