Hi, I am new to the board. I just got a 1988 maxima gxe, it has a cracked electric sunroof. I was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to get fixed, or an alternative such as taking it out and putting in a regular moon roof (not electric). Any suggestions would be helpfull thanks.

I have never heard of a sunroof cracking. I believe you should be able to get one from a junkyard for around $100-200. Get a nissan service manual so you can remove the cracked one and install the good one. Mine hasn't cracked before.

Cracked Sunroof

S#&t happens!
I've heard about the cracked sunroof. Check up the 3rd Gen. forum for the rattling sunroof (last 10 days).

Good luck.

Welcome to the club. Did something hit your sunroof or did it just happen? Go to a junkyard and depending on the place, you should probably spend anywhere from $85 to $200 on it. Is it a bad crack or just a hairline scratch? Maybe you could get some kind of glass sealer to fix it if it is very small. Let me know how it turns out. Thanks

I got one from the junkyard for about $45 bucks. I took it off a Stanza, more or less the same year. You have to realize that a lot of Nissan cars use the same parts. That's how they save money. Before you buy one take off yours to comare it.
