New to the moding cars

Hey everyone I own a 87 Maxima and are trying to mod it. I am currently trying to get a new suspension for my maxima. I am going to get new shocks and struts those parts are for the year of my car. I dont know if the brand KYB is any good but thats what is avaivlable. Now springs I havent found for my year the only springs i found close enough are the 89 maxima springs. Would those fit onto my maxima with no problem? I am also going to get a rear sway bar but the only model close enough is a 89, can that fit on my 87? Any info would be helpful, I will most like be posting a lot since i am having a hard time finding performance parts for that year and also I have no idea what I am doing. I do most of the mechanic work and only take it to a mechinc if its something major where i dont have the tools. Thanks
