Diesel Fuel Injection Pump

Hi everyone, I came across an interesting classified ad for a Maxima diesel. without getting into detail, the guy needs an Injection Pump, but can't locate one. My questions are, How hard is it to find this pump if/when it would fail, and at what cost? What can a diesel owner due to assure the pump lasts as long as possible, since a replacement may be hard to find? Thanks

pumps are easy to get just a bosch item.
they are still being sold as industrial engines new.

but very easy to repair.not much that realy fails with them.

common in countries like NZ and mainland europe.

Thanks Dave, that's great. I know the LD28 was a popular engine in other countries. It's also great that they're pretty easy to work on. Is all that's needed for them to last a long long time is to keep the water out of the fuel? Thanks again
