Loud belts

well the belt on the air and alternator squeeks really bad when it rains here or there is a lot of mosture in the air, i have been using belt dressing but its just not doing it. i know my timming belt was replaced about 50g miles ago i dont know if other belts were replaced, i wont to replace my timming belt and the belt that is squeaking, and anyother belts, any advice on this?????

i seen somewhere when you replace a timming belt you should also repalce the tensioner, or some pully idk,

im thinking belts shoulten cost to much, and i could change them my self

any input is great

is the belt that is squeeling tight enough....if not I am pretty sure you tighten that one down with that slide that is on the bottom of the alt. if that does not fix it then it is probably time to replace it

Agreed, check the tension on the belt. If it still does it it's simply worn out. And for the T-belt, yes it's a good idea to change the tensioner pulley too. I like to replace my water pump too while I'm in there, I don't want to have to go in there more than I have to. If you have a service manual it should explain the process fairly good.

But i was confused about the timming belt i thought it was the timming belt the wide belt, but idk i still dont know

nope, timing belt is not visible as the car sits right now....it is on the 'inside of the motor' so to speak...its a big job to change one. If you are going to do it your self I would recomend talking to guys who have done it themselves in the past. I had mine changed 10k ago and it was 250 in labor (which is a good price IMHO)

Belts only squeal when loose. When they start becoming loose they will only squeal in the morning or when wet.

Belts will still squeal when they're tight if they are worn out. They get glazed on the surface that rides the pulleys and don't have any "grab" left. Just replace it.
