My 87 Wont Start... HELP!!!!!!!!

Hey guys whats up, ok this is whats going on I just got my 87 max from South Carolina. It had been sitting up for about 6-8 months with not battery in it. We put a battery in it and tried to start it. well the starter sounds fine, because it is turning fast, no matter how much we tried it just wont start. So, we sprayed gas or ether (i dont know what it was) in the manifold, and it started right up and ran ....until that burned off. after doing that a few times we just pushed it on the trailer and pulled it back to North Carolina. My friend and i came up with the conclusion that it is the fuel pump, cause the car has like a half tank of gas in it. before the car sat up that long you could just go outside jump it of and it would fire right up. what do you guys think, could it be the fuel pump or do i just need to fill it up with some 93 octane? thanks

Check a little further down in the posts for one that says: stalling/no start for a few suggestions that might help you out.

also, my dad said he put some fuel injector cleaner in the car, but parked it before he burned it all out the tank ... can that mess up a fuel pump?

ignition coil??? its getting a spark ,, would the coil stop it from starting .. cause when you spray ether in it, it starts until it burns off

if it runs with ether in it untill it off, then i would assume its a fuel issue, i would replace the fuel filter , and while u have the fule line off check and see if u have any fuel pressure
