What was the last year that Nissan used solid valve lifters? Are all of the V-6's hydraulic lifters?

The last year that I am aware that Nissan used mechanical lifters was in 1983 with the NA version of the 280ZX. The 81-82 ZX-Turbo used mechanical lifters (P90 head) But the 1983 280ZX Turbo used hydraulic lifters (ONLY the 83 ZXT: P90a head). I know that the 84 Maxima with L24E still had mechanical lifters.

At least for high RPM L-series use the mechanical lifters are better as they have less valve float.

What about the VQ or later VK engines, haven't they gone to a desmodromic valve train?

Man I pity the poor chump who has to make the shims for that engine. It was hard enough keeping my old Ducati Darmah in tune.

Nope, all Nissan V6's have hydraulic lifters....if they had mechanical lifters, I doubt they'd be as reliable as 24 valves to adjust is just a nightmare....plus the back bank can't be adjusted with the IM on.
