anyone have y-pies on their 2nd gen? i need one but i'm wondering will it fit.

2nd gen's don't have y-pipes like 3rd and newer gens. They have a crossover design. What are you trying to fit it to?

Could he drop a new motor where the crossover pipe is down like on the 89 models? That probally be expensive but is it possible.

No, he couldn't because the 2nd gen oil filter, engine mount, and oil pressure sending unit would be in the way.

then he should RWD it....since hed be doing alot of fabbing any way and he could have true dual exhaust that way

one thing I found intersting is that not all second gens have the same exhaust set up....the 85-86's had a pre-cat, but the 87-88's did not, I am guessing that the guys with earlier second gens could see some sort of gain by removing the pre cat from the exhaust.
