Yeah, I installed it like 5 years ago with SMX aka Wayne, here on the boards when I lived in Atlanta. It is the Hayden 404 transmission cooler. It is recommended for everyone with autos. I would agree to use it or one like it for the 3rd gen. There are other ones out there too. They are all universal and it isnt hard either.

Quote: The reason I was asking is because K&N sells universal filters that are soldb y dminisons, so all I would need is one with a 3' base right? I currently have a short ram intake with an adapter and cheap "hi-flow" cone filter from Auto Zone. I want the K&N filter.

Here's a link to the entire page:

And here's a link to a cone filter that is smimlar to max88g's:

I was also looking at these Apollo universal cold air intake filters:

Is it possible to retro fit those apollo's for our maximas? They look damn sexy!

What do you all think?

That first one looks similar to mine. I can measure mine for you all to see what the dimensions are. I will try to do that today. I am also going to attempt to install my Ford Taurus single Din cup holders I received this friday. I will be taking pics of the install once it is done. I am taking out the original Equalizer because I dont use it. If anyone wants it I can sell it. Its still in good condition. My current headunit has more than enough equalizer settings so this one just sat there.

The strut tower bar? Yes, most definately. I can take turns at speeds I couldnt do without it. It really helps with the rigidity up front. I love it. Dont let the home made look fool you. It works.

That'll be great if you'd get those dimensions for me, they will assist me in my deliberations....heheh. Post those pics of the install you do regarding the cup holders. Come to think of it, that is probably the oddball of our cars, the lack of cup holders...... Few more questions Q, 1. I want to take the resonator off, how would I go about re-routing hoses and plugging them up? 2. What do I plug the hoses up with? 3. It seems that AAV unit does not hinder performance nor does it hinder emissions, I'd like to take the entire unit out so that I can work freely in that area, is that possible?

Details on what I need to do and what needs to be bought would really help me out.

Thanks.

P.S. Here's an image of my current setup:

it looks like max88 just bypassed the aav unit? my intake looks like yours, but his looks way cooler with the pipe going straight into the throttle body...

Yes, it is great. Performance is noticeable throttle response and especially higher in the RPM range. Yes, I bypassed and stuck a filter on the AAV unit.

you dont need a filter on the aav unit all it does is put fresh air into the exhaust gas
