Lower Temp Thermostat.

There is a possibility there is a lower temp Thermostat for our cars. At courtesy Nissan on their website there is a Nismo Thermostat that opens up at 144 degrees versus the 170 degrees the Autozone/Advanced Autoparts/Oreilly's etc. It is 55 bucks without shipping but Im going to get the 1988 300zx Non turbo one. It should fit without a problem. If it goes well, I will update you all here.

Are there any problems with the ECU not working due to the some sensors that are below operating temp?

Worst case scenario is the car runs in open loop. Might be great for mileage but it shouldn't be much of a problem.

It is in F. I thought so too. I have a 170 one in mine now. Waiting to get the money for the Nismo one that opens up at 144 F. 5 Years ago they use to have more variety. A low temp, mid temp and then a high temp for our cars at the Parts stores, now its just this 170 F one and I think that bites.

Any updates regarding the thermostat installtion? I'm planning to do my timing belt and I was looking at the same nismo thermostat you're looking to use.

I know, I'm doing the whole package, tensioner, stud, water pump, seals, sprokets, thermostat and housing, etc etc

So my question is in regards to the thermostat.
