Does anyone know if my 88 maxima's tilt column/wheel should lock in more than all the way up or all the way down? Seems strange to only have two wheel positions (and neither one is optimal).

Also, a few days ago while cleaning, I pulled the passenger side shoulder belt all the way out and now it won't retract. Anyone ever had this problem and/or know how to correct the problem?

Oh, one more thing. I junk-yarded some 17 inch rims which fit the Max and was wondering what tire size to buy to get the same rolling diameter as the stock 195 60 15s? Any suggestions on tire brand/model?

Well, I think there are only two. I will need to go to my car to check it out. For the tires search for Tire calculators on the internet and it should give that info to you. I have rims that are 16X7's and the tires I have on them are 205/50/16. For 17's Im thinking 205/45/17 or 205/40 /17's. If they are more than 7 inches wide like 17x7.5 or 8 then Im thinking 215 or 225/40/17, 215 or 225/45/17.

Mine has 3 positions.

As for tires, I'd go with 215/40/17.

How weird. I wonder why mine only locks all the way up or all the way down? ? ? Anyone know if there is some trick to getting to lock in another position? ? ?
