Timing Belt Replacement 87 Maxima
Does anyone have detailed instructions on replacement of the timing belt?
My Chiliton manual is not as detailed on this item than others in the book.
If I can get the pulleys off I can get to the timing belt. Also need to see which mark on my crank pulley is TDC.
HELP!!!!!

i think i would call myself a pro at this because ive dealt with all kinds of timing belt experiences
first of all unless your gonna drop the engine to give your self enough space to workin there your fonna have to remove the: coolant resivor, cruisecontrol thingy, if its an se youll have the p/s steerinc coolant thingy in the way it takes up like 2 inches then youll have to remove the starter jam up the fly wheel with your wheel iron with the flat head side, then remove the crankshaft pulley with a 22mm socket and a breaker bar while holding the tireiron in the flywheel so it dosent move then youll have to remove the timing cover(like 10-15 bolts 8mm) take it off loosen the tensioner with a hex key abd a 14mm bolt.
as for the timing marks the 2 top gears have white dots on them which should align up with the 2 dots on the back if the timing gear plate(the one that you cant remove with out removing the timing gears) and on the crankshft there is a white mark or dimple it should be at about 4:30-4.45 position if yout riming belt has lmarks on it then itl all be a peice of cake and if you dont then i got one i can sell to you for 20.00 shipped
oh and make sure that you dont drop any screws in there when you tighten it all up or you could be in fore some trouble
any mo questions holla!!

Thanks Big E Dog!!! I change my mind before I got your reply. I figured it was noway I could get to everything without dropping the engine.
My 93 was easier, I did that one. Thanks again for the info, no if I can remember how to post pics here.
