no power and pulsing?

this is really getting to me. i fix one problem only to un cover another.

ok i fixed the pinging problem, the distributer was off a few teeth or something, now it runs fine everything is good except when i go from a stand still it takes off good and then falls on its face and theres no power. and then to continue to accelerate it pulses while it still has little power.

its really ****ing frusterating, you can hear it wroking hard but still.

i am at a loss on this one.

oh it happenes weither its up to temp or cold, more noticable when its cold but still there at temp.

hey dude my maxima got the same problem as yours, after i stupidly added 10w 40 motor oil on my engine without draining the oil motor oil out and puting in a new oil filter i totally screwed my car up. Now i'm having alot of pinging and my car just dies out when idoling on the intersection. freaken frustrating.

Had that happen to my 86 Max a while back. Replaced the fuel pump and it's fine. Before you change the fuel pump, make sure your pressure regulator is still good as it may give the same symptoms. I eventually had to change both.

damn why can't i post a new thread?!!
umm... sorry for the interruption but.. uh... my 85 max got another problem i was wondering if you guys can help me solve the problem. My fuel injector is leaking fuel all over the place i mean the ground is littered with fuel! its so dangerous to drive, i've asked a mechanic about that and he told me i'm looking at 400-600 to fix. my 85 max fuel injector has a rubber tube that pushes fuel to the engine but due to old ages the rubber tube has cracked and pouring out gases like theres no tomorrow. =' (

i wonder if something clogging it part way some place, i hope so i cant afford a new pump right now, junk yards are either shut down or dont have any cars like mine.

as for the leaking fuel from the injectors, theres really no way arround it, dont drive it, it'll catch on fire sooner or later.

$600 seems a little steep, i would ask arround.

Running 10-40 is probably not good for your engine, but it shouldnt harm it so itll screw it up. Did you go back to whatever the vg30 runs? (I dont own one so I dont know)

If I where you I would run a compression test and see what it reads, if your running low the oil pump didnt like the 10w-40 and the rings didnt get enough oil, causing "catastrophic engine damage".

the mechanic said they gotta take the manifold header off and remove the fuel injector ruber tube and weld in a steal tube to replace it. they they asking around $400-$600 if there isn't any other... problems... which i'm pretty sure theirs penty on my maxima. this may sound stupid but i skidded that car like twice from 30mph to like 60, 70 they old automatic transmission couldn't handle such a fast shifting for an old car and i nearly blew out my transmission i think... = /

huh uh go else where they will screw something up by welding a steel tube in place of a rubber one not to mension you'll have to practly trash your top end to replace injectors or something in that area

ok so i tested the pressure at 25Psi at idle, spec is 30psi, i did fix the falling on its face issue but the pulsing seems to be there still so i am wondering if its 2 different things, mabe a transmission problem, should fluch it any way. going to do a fuel filter to regain that 5 psi but that far out of spec shouldnt be causing this many problems.

Unfortunately for some of you,the injectoe recall has been over for several years.Autozone has injector replacement kits that are significantly cheaper than the dealer.Also,10w40 does not hurt a motor
