one last short before i order a fuel pump

alright i am throwing arround some ideas that something might just be out of adjustment since i got the pinging to stop.

my problem it the cars just bogs way down right after take off, it stumbles in park if you hit the gas even remotly sharp and it kinda surges when you accelerate, like accelerating faster, slower, faster, slower faster, slower while the pedal is in the same spot.

now i was wonderind could vaccum or the FICD throw it off?
the rubber nipple fell off the BCDD (that thing in the front of the intake manifold) and i cant tell if its causing a vaccum leak but it could i guess, and i know i have accidentally turned the FICD screw when i mean to turn the idle screw.

how does one adjust the FICD any way?
i mean what happens when you get too far in or out with it and will it damage any thing?

the manuals i have dont say a thing about it other than its there

Before you order a fuel pump go with a wablro 255 .

Only 97 bucks shipped for mee off of ebay.

I just ordered the 240sx kit and installed it.

Works flawlessly.

have you ever tried checking you MAFs? When idling, disconnect the connector. If no change in the way it runs, then......

its been replaced not too long ago but yea i did check it, i dont think it would cause a pulsing/surging like that.

we pulled the pump on saturday but we disconnected the battery for a while so the ecu got reset, the pulsing/surging kinda went away a little bit which leads me to belive it was part of the problem but also makes me 80% sure its something that needs adjusting/tweaking.

its still there but it doesent buck like it used too, its much more suttle, still stumbles though i am thinkin it might be a timing thing. its been a pain to get things back to the way they should after i had things adjusted so to get goo milage when it was pinging so much but i dont understand why this would come up after th pinging had been fixed a few weeks before

Spray the distributor cap with a spray bottle of water and see if it either stalls or the water get's to the inside of the cap after a couple of minutes.

After reading your original post more clearly, the surging is common with the vg30 for a variety of reasons but mixture is the culprit.

This can be caused by a lazy O2 sensor but many here have probably experienced this in their own maximas so they may be more help.

check wires to and from the fuel pump which run underneath seats, mine were corroded and it solved my stalling problem.

here is my post from a few days ago

I know it is not exactly the same symptoms as yours but who knows !
