VB mod for 2nd gen auto?

Does anyone here know if the 2nd gen automatic transmissions torque converter can even withstand the aftereffects of a VB mod? I know my torque converter has crapped out 3 times in the last year or so, maybe it is just an isolated problem on my car?? I would like to get the VB mod done to my transmission but I am not sure it is justified.

I would but Los Angeles traffic would make my life with a 5 speed a living hell. Constant shifting would tire me out on a daily basis. If I lived in a smaller city with less traffic maybe.

You replaced your torque convertor 3 times? Something is up with that. I don't think that a VB mod would have any affect on a TC, but then again, I haven't tried with these cars. I really didn't mind the 5-speed in traffic, and believe me, its pretty bad in the Seattle area. If you think about it, what would you rather have? No shifting or more reliability?
