This is what is finally going into my car

Now that finals are over I am finally going to put the projectors that I have been putting off for more than a year. These projectors have no cutoff shield, but the projector bowl seems to do a good job of not dispersing the light, which surprised me, you be the judge.

here are two without using flash but show more of what light is being let out

picture with full flash being used

soft flash

Do I need to create a cutoff shield of my own, or is the light acceptable? All of the scattered light shown on the pictures looks dimmer in person.

I would use a cutoff, as the further back you go the higher that glare will go.

ok, looks like I will have to fashion one out of sheet aluminum. One more question, How do I do the color mod for these projectors? Is it just placing washers on the bottom 2 screws????

but before we go into all of that take a picture of the projector

the big issue right now is fabricating the cutoff shields. I bought some small sheets of aluminum from the Depo and I am going to take another go tomorrow at fabricating these babies. So far the light isn't too dispersed by the stock glass, and adds stealth (in my neighborhood it isn't good if people know you have something expensive in your car, it won't stay on for long)

I finished with most everything and my headlights are on my car. The only thing I wasn't able to finish was the fabrication of a cutoff shield. Oh well, it is worlds better than my last setup, when it comes to light output and glare as well(relatively small glare. Only nighttime will definitely tell though

after you get those sheilds on you gotta take off that glass if not its gonna kill your cutoff foreals and get some shrouds and flat black paint to dress it up

It's not even that'll kill your cutoff. It'll scatter the light and cause glare. Looking good though!

The actual retrofit takes a while due to the small vertical space in our headlight. HID gives so much more output than regular halogen, that I feel it is worth the time I invested. If you're going to go and get HID, you should also buy some HID projectors and retrofit them in, HID kits in reflector housings are known to cause glare(even in OEM HID) and they can possibly cause accidents. That is why most auto manufacturers are using Projector headlamps in their more high end applications, and especially in SUVs(which are notorious for blinding oncoming traffic due to their height).

BTW: I just colormodded my projectors yesterday, and I am loving them even more now.
