IN my 88 wagon, I have the radio/equalizer combo. I'm using a pioneer deh-1700 that was in my jeep, it's just a plain jane 1/2 din cd player.

Can I just remove the stock radio, and slide the new one in? I don't want to drop $20 on a mounting kit and don't mind leaving the factory EQ in there.

depends on the trim of your centerconsole but you might have to get the kit, hell go to the pullit yard and get the brackets and stereo box from a 3rd gen and put it in thats what i did...
