I haven't. When I moved to Atlanta we bought a house... which basically stopped me from working on cars [other than for maintenance] until now.

I know that feeling. My first house put a 5 year moratorium on my car projects as well. It takes a while to recover, but you'll be in much better shape, financially, with a house than a half dozen car projects!

I just bought another house and things are tight again, but in a couple years, I'll be great shape as long as I can keep working!

Minor update:

I have a Turbo Maxima for sale.
I have a bazillion spare parts.

I won't part out the Maxima. The buyer will get the Maxima and all the parts they would like at the time of sale. I'll sell what is left afterward.

I'm posting to the car ad a list of parts and will expand on it as I can sort them out.

Thanks!
Chris

I have not taken it to the 1/4. A stock 280ZXT runs about 15.2s at 180hp (with stock exhaust) so it should do better than that with a skilled driver. This modified exhaust should result in a power increase to about 205hp (based on other's dyno testing of conversion from stock to 3" mandrel bent similar systems).

So you have a 3" exhaust sytem? The muffler tips look small like OEM....How much boost are you running? Did you install an intercooler?
I would love to have this car and build a 2.8 Big bore (3098cc) setup with a 2mm headgasket and about 12-15 lbs of boost max with an intercooler, B.O.V. and an adjustable boost controller...350 hp!
As far as suspension mods, is it wearing Addco swaybars F/R? I'm liking it and it would be awesome but not right now.....Would I need a trailer to get all the stuff?

The picture you saw on my website is old (stock 280ZXT exhaust modified to fit). The current exhaust is described in this thread:

http://forums.maxima.org/1st-2nd-gen...recording.html

I did not install an intercooler, and it is running about 8 psi boost (has been for about 50,000). I had plans to install an intercooler below the airbox but I did not get to follow through on that project.

The swaybars are Addco on both front and rear (was particularly rare at the time, I am not sure about their current availability).

A long bed pickup would probably fit all of the parts (except maybe the hood). The biggest items are the 2 engines, transmission, doors, hood and trunk. It would certainly be easiest with a trailer, but a pickup may be doable with some careful packing. I would prefer for all of my parts to go when the car goes, but the buyer is welcome to choose which parts they take and leave.

Thanks,
Chris

What size wheel/tire package are you running? They look really wide!!!! The front steering is it rack and pinion or a steering box? How many miles on that engine? Is the ecu stock or has it been flashed?

The wheels / tires in the exhaust post are not currently on the car. It was running 245x45R16 on the rear at the time. Those wheel and tire details are shown in this post (I had the rims refinished but never got tires mounted back on them... they are included with the sale):

http://forums.maxima.org/1st-2nd-gen...s-1st-gen.html

The tires currently on it are 205x60R15 (stock 280ZXT size) on 200SX wheels.

The steering on the first generation Maxima is rack and pinion.

Engine has about 160,000 miles on it. The ECU is a stock 300ZXT Z31 ECU with the intent of flashing a Z31 ECU.

Thanks!

so i have to ask before you completely dissappear from these message boards when this sells.

the 1st gen maxima 5spd has a 240mm fly wheel like the 280 2+2 and Turbo cars?

The stock Maxima flywheel is a 225mm flywheel. I am not certain if it weighs the same as the L28 225mm, but it takes the same clutch.

I installed a 240mm flywheel and clutch in this car.

its probably the same

the reason i was asking was i am looking at something and i was thinking when i replaced the flywheel in 280zx car i could use the old one to replace the one in the car i am considering, 240mm is bigger and heavier but more grabbing surface area as well...well i am thinking this now.

before i was thinking i could order 2x aluminum/chromoloy wheels but if i get the car and i stick a 5spd in it i'll see how a regular 240mm wheel does
