Headlight trouble

I think I have a short in my wiring for the drivers side headlight.

I have voltage on one side of the fuse, but the voltage drops significantly (on the other side) as soon as I turn the lights on. As a side note, neither of my cornering lamps are functioning either.

I tried replacing the main switch (on the steering column) and it hasn't changed the situation. All I have is a Chilton's manual at the moment, which isn't really helpful. Is there a relay or control box that would affect this or does the wire head from the fuse box straight out to the lamp?

Any help would be appreciated.

Oops. My Maxima is an 88.

I need to check that assembly, but I found the problem with my headlight.. The contacts for that fuse in the box aren't making good contact. (There's melted plastic on the mains side of the fuse contacts. I guess there's enough to prevent the fuse from making a good connection.)

I'm going to try fixing that connector, but I think I'll probably have to resort to wiring in a new fuse holder.

I've been doing repairs/maintenance for month now.. Looking forward to being done.
