A couple of issues with my '88 Maxima

I'm trying to make a push to figure out the last problems with my '88 Maxima.

I checked the codes on the computer and all I'm getting right now is 23. Throttle Position Switch. I checked it with a multimeter and it looks like no matter how I adjust it, the switch doesn't "close" until roughly half throttle. From what I've read, this should happen when the throttle just starts to open. Is this right?

The only adjustment I see for this is the grooves that the screws go in to, which isn't enough. Is there some other way of adjusting these?

And by any chance, can I grab one of these off of a different model car? The pull yard here doesn't have any Maxima older than '89 and the parts stores are special order.

The other issue I'm facing right now is a vibration at idle, when the transmission is in gear (neutral/park is fine.) It usually does this, but not always. Most common culprit seems to be a bad motor mount, but on initial inspection the front seems fine. (Are there two? Where is the rear mount?)

the tps is adjusted by those screws on the side of it.. 2 of the contacts need to be closed at idle and open at any other position till it reaches full throttle when the other 2 contacts close.... the tps can be garbed at the junk yard from any nissan as long as the tps look the same...

the car has 4 motor mounts from what i recall, 2 in the engine 2 in the trans...the rear motor mount is located in back of the engine by the axel....

If you can't find the part, check with Toyota/Nissan Salvage at 602-437-1222 or ABC Nissan. Both are in Phoenix,Az and have helped me find hard to find parts.

The TPS problem has been solved. Stupid me.. I was looking at the diagram in the Haynes manual for the 89 (if I remember correctly) which only has one switch instead of two. I only checked one set of pins before concluding the thing wasn't working right.. It is. Now that it's adjusted, I don't see the stalling I used to get when accelerating from a stop.

Now it's on to the vibration issue. Question though.. I can tell that the left front motor mount looks good. The other I see in the manual is a lot more funky looking. How do you tell if it's good/bad?

ABC Nissan is a good source for new parts... but they don't carry my old D21 truck parts anymore....So I'm sure they don't carry 1st nor 2nd Gen Maxima parts.....

Yes,he is.I think the shipping is done by somebody else. They've usually been quick on my orders.Sometimes, shipping people don't realize how imperative it is to ship quickly.
