Head Coolant Plug Reseal

Has anyone resealed the coolant plug in the cylinder head due to leaks? This is left head as you face the motor (next to the firewall) and is an internal hex plug (bind plug) behind the cam pulley. There is a Nissan TSB for 3rd gen VG30s on this repair. Looking for hex size (17mm ?), removal and sealing method that worked.

Yep, I thought I'd probably use Teflon tape. I definitely want to make sure it seals.

Am I right on the 17mm hex? Any other tips? I read this plug can be a b****h to remove.
