but RX7 are one of the few cars with rotaries, even if they suck in ways let the diehards work on them, there are 1000000000 RWD domestics out there you can shove a LS1 in, if you want popup headlights old TransAm have them.
im sure 4cyl Foxbody Mustangs dont weigh alot, shove a LS1 into one, race, profit

Then again, if you just stuck an LSx into a RWD domestic that was already pretty fast, where's the cool factor/fun in that?
Frankly, I think LSx powered anything is pretty cool. I've always had an affinity for the LSx (as well as the VE). It's a beast and surprisingly light and compact. I love to see all the LSx transplants on ls1tech.com. Those dudes shove LSx's into anything and everything. Porsche 911s, Z cars, Datsun 510s (drool), BMW 3 Series, etc.
Anyway, back on topic.
OP, lets see some pics!
You can find Q45's all day in junkyards. That means really cheap motors and wiring.
but q45's are very wide and tall and hard to fit in. They tried to put one in to 80's e30 but it didn't even remotely fit. LS1's are popular because they are compact. I'm planning on just getting lm7 or similar truck engine based on ls series for my wagon.
i looked at doing a vk56de motor. the diminsions are similar but there again the cheapest motor i found was like 1500 and did not include wiring ecu or acessories . also on one is doing an adapter to run a manual yet .
Those are good points, and I don't necessarily disagree. But I don't really have any affinity for a stock RX7, like, none at all, whatsoever, so I don't really care that its losing its rotary soul, but I do think an LSx powered RX7 is pretty freakin' cool

s, IE the Camaro guy that put brake fluid in his engine, the Camaro guy that put ATF in his engine, the guy with a Mustang that washed out the old oil in his engine with water, and the guy that poured sand in his engine to polish it
Honda guys just use ricer math, AEM and NOS stickers are 25hp eachanyway back on topic i want some pics

LS1 can be a fun motor. There is a guy that lives by my place that installed an LS1 into a E30 BMW. Seen the car in person a few times and it's beyond ridiculous. I think someone posted a link to his build in member rides or other car forum.

here is a link to e30 that Vorshlag had built with 5.3l truck motor with ls1 intake and accessories.

how many people do you know are doing serious modifications to nissan V8s, very few, most just do intakes, or for a rich few, an overpriced POS stillen S/C kit. but people who stuff V8s in smaller cars usually stay all motor, and like it or not, performance parts are easier to pick up for domestic V8s. im not saying this to say one is better, just that the domestic V8 is far easier to get more power from, hence the reason 240 guys dont use a lot of nissan V8s, or why a lot of RX7 guys opt for LS1. with cams and a tune, youre over 400whp.

The classic fight between Japanese and American. I wonder if any of these people just sit and realize one day that it was a GIGANTIC waste of time arguing over red and green apples.
"Green apples are best because they are sour"
"Red is best, because its sweet"
"Having a sweet green apple is like going out with Satan's daughter (I bet she is HOT)"
In the end American and Japanese cars........ are cars.
If you gave me a Camaro, sure I will drive it and love it. If you gave me a 240SX I will drive it and make sweet passionate love to it.
So my point is that I love the 240SX and you should too

but you are correct in a way, as in the Lexus SC300 is the Toyota Soarer in Japan and the Lexus GS300 is the Toyota Aristo, the Japanese versions dont use the Lexus name just Toyota
not really, Infiniti is the luxury class of Nissan, like Lexus is Toyotas luxury line and such

Organ donor.

Swap parts

Trans and shifter

It fits

Clears the stock hood. Just had to cut out the support ribs. Has maybe a 1/4 between the hood and intake.

Trans in with stock corssmember mounts and holes. Just need to make some spacers and get some longer bolts to drop it down a little. Shifter even comes out in the stock hole.

That looks like a perfect fit! Gotta love a nice budget build!
Oh- All this LS, and high RPM talk earlier is making me think. Just get a Small-Block 350, destroke it to 3", and roller it. Give Dart a call for some heads, and get the cam to match the range your looking for. Have yourself a mean V8 that'll spin 10K+ without breaking the bank. I plan to do this exact thing.
