Andrew,

Put LockTite on the threads and torque down the studs to the proper specs. Using any gasket should do you just fine. Let the LockTite sit overnight before driving the car though

is this even with the factory studs? i hear early vgs have weak studs, and ive gone through 3 vgs, each leaked at some point.

is there a stainless option out there perhaps? something more durable?

thanks!

Torque the studs???? That's not not how you install studs at all!!!! Purchase some new ones (Studs) from Nissan that come with a dimple on the end and these are the new and improved design.....place a little anti-sieze to the stud and screw them in until they bottom out that's it! Placing loctite on the threeds in this aluminum head could possible pull the threads out when removed the studs....

thats what i figured.

im going to call nissan tomorrow about the revised studs, i hear tsb replacement parts are significantly cheaper than other parts since nissan "pays" for them. otherwise im going to look into some stainless hardware.
